Description:
The story of a teenager named Hiccup living in a mythical Viking world on the Isle of Berk, which has been unfortunately plagued with deadly dragon raids for seven generations. Hiccup is the heir to the Viking Chieftain but is less than ideal with his slim physique, observant and sarcastic personality, and non-violent attitude. Still, Hiccup keeps trying to meet the expectation of his father, Stoick, his peers, and the rest of the tribe. But when Hiccup's luck with one of his contraptions earns him the chance to prove himself when he shoots down a Night Fury--the most deadly and mysterious of all the known dragons--he finds that he can't kill it.
Once befriending the dragon--which he names Toothless--Hiccup is thrust into a complicated double life of helping Toothless fly again with a prosthetic tail fin once he realizes Toothless lost his left tail fin, and keeping his newly found status of "best dragon trainee" intact as he uses the tricks he learns from Toothless to trick everyone into thinking he has a force of will over dragons.
